Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - Shortly before 16:00, Quakertown Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to Quakertown Rd and Pittstown Rd for a motor vehicle accident with minor injuries and entrapment. Rescue 91 (D/C Vallat), Squad 91 (Lt Godown), BLS 91 (FF/EMT Dettra) with 14 men responded to find a car accident with one car up the embankment with a patient still in the vehicle.
Crew immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicle and putting together a removal plan. Once the car was stabilized with Rescue struts and cribbing, a side removal was done to gain access to the victim. The patient was removed and transported to Hunterdon Medical Center by Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad. The patient removal process was completed in 25 minutes.
23 volunteers responded to the alarm with Car 91-85 handling a traffic assignment and an additional engine crew in quarters.
